ALLEGEDLY RODE AWAY WITH $4,000 BICYCLE
Police were called to a bicycle shop in the 2500 block of Broadway at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 29th, where store employees alleged to police that a suspect entered the shop, took a $4,000 bicycle claiming that he wanted to test ride it and did not return.
The suspect returned to the shop several days later with his pastor and allegedly admitted to stealing the bicycle, which was later recovered from a pawn shop in Venice.
Police arrested the suspect and booked him for grand theft and theft with a prior conviction.
ALLEGEDLY ATTEMPTED TO GRAB GIRL FROM DAD
A man in the 1500 block of the beach alleged to police at 11:26 p.m. Saturday, August 2nd, that he was at the beach with his family when a suspect grabbed his daughter’s arm and pulled her away.
When the man confronted the suspect and pushed him away, a second suspect nearby allegedly punched the father. Both suspects threatened him but fled the area after he called police.
Police located the suspects as they were leaving the beach, arrested them and booked them for kidnapping and making terrorist threats. One of the suspects was also booked for battery and for having two outstanding warrants.
SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR DRIVING STOLEN VEHICLE
Officers were on routine patrol in the 2000 block of Barnard Way at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, August 3rd, when they noticed a vehicle that was being driven with a broken rear tail light.
Prior to stopping the vehicle, officers checked the license plate number, which identified the car as stolen. Police stopped the vehicle and detained the driver, who was arrested and booked for grand theft auto and having an outstanding warrant.
BOOKED FOR ASSAULTING POLICE OFFICER AT HOME
Police were called to a residence in the 400 block of Strand Street at 2:15 p.m. Monday, August 4th, regarding a report of a family dispute.
While officers were investigating the incident, a woman allegedly hit one of the officers and attempted to kick him.
The woman was arrested and booked for assault and battery on a police officer and probation violation.
ALLEGEDLY HAD STOLEN KEYS, BB GUN AT DEALER
An employee at a car dealership in the 1000 block of Santa Monica Boulevard alleged to police at 9:10 a.m. Monday, August 4th, that a suspect had stolen car keys from the sales office and was in possession of a BB gun.
Police detained the suspect and found that he was allegedly in possession of stolen car keys, a replica firearm and over 20 gift and calling cards from various stores.
The suspect was arrested and booked for grand theft, brandishing a firearm, possession of stolen property and for having an outstanding warrant.
ARRESTED FOR TRYING
TO HIT POLICE OFFICER
Police were called to the area of Third Street and Santa Monica Boulevard at 10:50 p.m. Monday, August 4th, where a fight had been reported.
When officers arrived they saw that one woman appeared to be intoxicated. During the encounter between police and the woman, she allegedly attempted to punch one of the officers.
After a brief struggle, officers arrested the woman and booked her for public intoxication, assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.
ARRESTED FOR STEALING SIX SHIRTS FROM STORE
Police were called to a store in the 300 block of Colorado Avenue at 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 5th, where a theft suspect was being detained by a loss prevention agent, who alleged that the suspect had taken clothing items, removed the price tags and security sensors, placed the items in a backpack and left without paying. The six shirts were valued at $199.
The loss prevention agent detained the suspect outside the store and released him to police, who arrested the suspect and booked him for petty theft.
