ARRESTED FOR STEALING CLOTHES FROM STORES
Police were called at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 24th, to a store in the 1400 block of the Third Street Promenade, where a theft suspect was being detained.
Store security officers alleged to police that a suspect had stolen clothing items valued at $214 and set off the security alarms when she was trying to leave the store.
Security officers detained the suspect outside the store and found that she was also allegedly in possession of stolen clothes valued at $390 from another store. The suspect was also in possession of scissors used to cut off the security tags from clothes.
Police arrested the suspect and booked her for burglary, possession of stolen property and possession of burglary tools.
ALLEGEDLY STOLE MAN’S CAR FROM HIS RESIDENCE
Police were called to a residence in the 1100 block of Bay Street at 2:30 a.m. Friday, July 25th, regarding a grand theft auto investigation.
A man told police that he had befriended a woman earlier in the evening and took her back to his home. When the man was in the bathroom, the woman allegedly took his car keys and stole his car.
As police were taking the report, they received information that the man’s vehicle was involved in an accident at 11th Street and San Vicente Boulevard.
Police responded to the scene, arrested the suspect, and booked her for grand theft auto, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without a license.
ARRESTED FOR BATTERY ON OFFICER IN PARK
A police officer was called to a park in the 1100 block of Lincoln Boulevard at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 27th, regarding a report of a suspect yelling in the park.
When the officer arrived, he contacted the suspect, who appeared to be intoxicated. While the officer was detaining the suspect, he allegedly squeezed and twisted the officer’s fingers.
The suspect was then taken to the Santa Monica Jail, where he allegedly grabbed and squeezed the jailer’s hands as she tried to remove the handcuffs.
The suspect was booked for battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, public intoxication and probation violation.
MAN ARRESTED FOR
RAPING, BEATING WOMAN
A woman in the 2900 block of Wilshire Boulevard alleged to police at 7:04 a.m. Monday, July 28th, that a suspect hit her while they were sitting in a vehicle parked in the lot of a business.
The suspect had allegedly beaten the woman in several cities outside of Santa Monica and forced her to have sex with him on prior occasions. The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Police transported the suspect to Santa Monica Jail, where they determined that the suspect was in possession of a controlled substance. The suspect was booked for domestic violence battery, rape and possession of a controlled substance.
ARRESTED FOR STEALING CLOTHES FROM STORE
Employees at a store in the 1300 block of the Third Street Promenade alleged to police at 3:30 p.m. Monday, July 28th, that three suspects entered the store and stole six shirts.
One of the suspects had distracted employees while the other two allegedly stole the items. Police detained the suspects in the area and learned that they had also tried to steal items from another store on the Promenade.
The three suspects were arrested and booked for commercial burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime.
TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR STEALING WATCHES
Police were called to a store in the 300 block of Colorado Avenue at 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 28th, where two theft suspects were being detained.
Loss prevention agents alleged to police that they saw the suspects steal several men’s watches valued at $130 on store security cameras.
The agents detained the suspects outside the store and released them to police, who arrested the suspects and booked them for petty theft.
ALLEGEDLY CUT MAN WHO WALKED PAST HIM
A man alleged to police at 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 29th, that when he walked by a suspect sitting on the ground in the 2600 block of Main Street, the suspect slashed at his right leg with a pocket knife.
The man was not injured. Police arrested the suspect, who was still seated in the area when they arrived, and booked him for assault with a deadly weapon.

I-PHONE FROM STORE
Police were called to a store in the 1200 block of the Third Street Promenade at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 29th, where a theft suspect was being detained.
Store security officers alleged to police that the suspect had used a knife to cut the cords off a $500 I-phone on display and attempted to run out of the store.
Police arrested the suspect and booked him for commercial burglary.
BOOKED FOR DAMAGING LIGHTS ON PROMENADE
A maintenance worker in the 1400 block of the Third Street Promenade alleged to police at 6:55 p.m. Monday, July 28th, that a suspect had ripped the decorative lights from a tree in the Promenade, damaging the lights.
Officers located the suspect a couple of blocks away, arrested him and booked him for vandalism and probation violation.
