SUSPECT ARRESTED IN THEFT OF COMPUTERS
A security manager at a business in the 2600 block of Colorado Avenue alleged to police at 3 p.m. Tuesday, August 29th, that several computers had been stolen.
Further investigation by police revealed that a group of suspects was allegedly involved in the theft of the computers and their images were captured on video.
One of the suspects identified was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for commercial burglary. Police are still seeking additional suspects.
ALLEGEDLY ANNOYED CHILD ON BEACH
Police were called to the 1500 block of the beach at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, September 7th, regarding a report of child annoyance.
Two girls alleged to officers that they were playing in the sand when a suspect walked up to them, engaged in conversation and touched one of them in the buttocks area.
The suspect then walked away and the girls went to their mother, who notified police.
Officers detained the suspect in the 100 block of Broadway, after the girls and their mother directed police to the location.
The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for child molestation.
BOOKED FOR STEALING BICYCLE ON THIRD ST.
Police were called to the 1400 block of Third Street at 6 p.m. Thursday, September 7th, where a theft was reported.
A man told police that his bicycle was leaning up against the wall when a suspect allegedly took it.
The man then approached the suspect, who returned the bicycle to him and walked away.
Officers located the suspect in the 1500 block of Second Street and he was later identified by the bicycle owner.
The suspect was arrested and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where he was booked for petty theft.
ALLEGEDLY POSSESSED BURGLARY TOOLS
Officers on routine patrol in the 400 block of Ocean Park Boulevard detained a man at 1:45 a.m. Friday, September 8th, and after talking with him, discovered that he was allegedly in possession of burglary tools.
The tools were described as bolt cutters.
The suspect was arrested and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where he was booked for possession of burglary tools.
BOOKED FOR BURGLARY AT APARTMENT COMPLEX
Police were called to the 1000 block of 17th Street at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, August 29th, regarding a report of a suspicious suspect walking through several apartment building patios.
An off-duty police officer told responding officers that he had followed a suspect after seeing him allegedly walk through several buildings of an apartment complex.
The suspect was arrested and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where he was booked for burglary.
CHARGED WITH LUNGING AT MAN WITH KNIFE
A man in the 1300 block of Fifth Street told police at 2:50 p.m. Saturday, September 9th, that he and a suspect had been sitting together when they got into an argument.
During the argument, the suspect allegedly took out a knife and threatened to stab the man. The suspect allegedly lunged at the victim with the knife but never struck him.
After the suspect fled, the victim notified police.
Officers located the suspect at the corner of Lincoln Boulevard and Arizona Avenue.
The suspect, who was identified by the victim, was arrested and booked for assault with a deadly weapon.
