Police were called to the 300 block of Santa Monica Boulevard at 7:45 p.m. Thursday, September 15th, where a suspect was in custody. Loss prevention officers at a store alleged to police that a suspect who had entered the store stole three CDs valued at $105 and left without paying for the items.
The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for commercial burglary.
An officer on patrol in the area of 11th Street and Colorado Avenue at 1:40 p.m. Friday, September 16th, was contacted by a man who said that someone had attempted to steal his vehicle.
The man alleged that when he returned to his vehicle, a suspect had opened the vehicle hood and was seated in the vehicle attempting to hot-wire it.
The suspect fled but was later stopped by police.
The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for attempted auto theft and auto burglary.
FOR PUNCHING MAN
A man in the 2400 block of Ocean Front Walk alleged to police at 12:53 p.m. Sunday, September 18th, that a suspect was in front of the man’s business attempting to panhandle.
When the man asked the suspect to leave, she allegedly began to swing her fists and punch the man several times.
The man was not injured.
The suspect fled on foot and was later stopped by police in the 2600 block of Main Street.
Police arrested the suspect and booked her in Santa Monica Jail for assault and battery.
PETTY THEFT OF EARRINGS
Police were called to the 100 block of Santa Monica Place at 1:33 p.m. Monday, September 19th, where a theft suspect was in custody. Loss prevention officers at a store alleged that a suspect had entered the store, removed two pairs of earrings and left without paying for the items.
The suspect was arrested outside the store by loss prevention officers and later released to police, who booked the suspect in Santa Monica Jail for petty theft.
ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY STEALING UNDERWEAR
Two petty theft suspects fled after store loss prevention officers attempted to make an arrest in the 100 block of Santa Monica Place at 8:15 p.m. Monday, September 19th. The suspects, who allegedly stole underwear valued at $59.97, were seen running southbound on Fourth Street and stopped by police. The suspects were arrested and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where they were booked for strong arm robbery.
TO CASH FAKE CHECK
At a bank in the 1300 block of Fourth Street at 10:44 a.m. Tuesday, September 20th, a suspect allegedly attempted to cash a fraudulent $1,250 check. During the transaction, a bank employee contacted a check verification company and determined that the check was fraudulent. The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for attempting to cash a fraudulent check.
BOOKED FOR PRESENTING
At a bank in the 2400 block of Wilshire Boulevard at 5:37 p.m. Friday, September 16th, a suspect allegedly attempted to cash a fraudulent $997.60 check.
During the verification process a bank employee contacted the company on whose account the check was written, and discovered the company never issued the check. The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for attempting to cash a fraudulent check.
