GRAND THEFT AUTO
Police were called to the 1500 block of Stanford Street at 11:25 p.m. Thursday, August 25th, regarding an attempted theft of an auto in progress.
When officers arrived, they saw three persons standing by a Nissan Ultima. Two suspects had allegedly attempted to use a tool to open the vehicle doors. The third suspect was allegedly holding a flashlight.
Officers approached the three suspects and arrested them. While at the police station, officers contacted the owner of the vehicle, who alleged that one of the suspects had borrowed the vehicle two months before and refused to return it.
The suspect was booked for grand theft auto. The two additional suspects, who were juveniles, were released with no charges.
HIMSELF TO PUBLIC
Police came to Main Street and Pier Avenue at 1:23 a.m. Friday, August 19th, where a suspect had allegedly exposed his genital area to the public.
When officers arrived they saw the suspect, who had allegedly pulled down his pants and exposed his genital area, running nude on the street.
The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for indecent exposure.
CAUGHT WHILE FLEEING
Officers on patrol in the 1600 block of Fourth Street at 7:02 p.m. Saturday, August 27th, saw a suspect allegedly run in the middle of the street and jump over the fence that divides northbound and southbound traffic.
Police stopped the suspect and during the investigation determined that the suspect had allegedly stolen jewelry from a store and was in the process of fleeing from the store.
The jewelry items were valued at $95.98.
The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for possession of stolen property.
ALLEGEDLY TOUCHED GIRLS INAPPROPRIATELY
Two female victims in the 1500 block of the beach alleged to police at 7:06 p.m. Saturday, August 27th, that while they were in the ocean, a suspect had allegedly touched them inappropriately.
A suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for sexual battery and lewd acts with a child under the age of 14.
TO STEAL COMPUTER
An employee in the 2400 block of Colorado Avenue alleged to police at 2:02 p.m. Monday, August 29th, that a suspect entered the business, attempted to remove a lap top computer from a desk and place the computer in a black leather case.
The suspect fled the business without the computer when he knew that he was being seen.
The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for grand theft.
A woman in the 400 block of Pier Avenue told police at 4:13 p.m. Saturday, August 27th, that a suspect the woman knew by name allegedly entered the woman’s apartment, sexually assaulted her and fled.
The suspect was arrested Monday, August 29th, and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where he was booked for kidnapping and sexual assault.
The woman was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released.
