TO FIND CAR TO DRIVE
Police were called to the 1700 block of Appian Way at 12:02 a.m. Saturday, December 31st, regarding a report of a suspicious person.
A hotel security officer told police that a suspect was allegedly walking in the parking lot and attempting to open car doors using a key.
Officers contacted the suspect and during the investigation they determined that the suspect had allegedly been looking for a car to drive.
The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for attempted grand auto theft.
ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPT
TO STEAL OCCUPIED CAR, THEN ENTER HOME
A man in the 300 block of Pico Boulevard told police at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, January 3rd, that while he was seated in his vehicle a suspect allegedly attempted to open the vehicle and steal the car.
The man then started his vehicle engine and drove away, and the suspect fled.
The suspect then allegedly attempted to gain entrance into a residence and a resident notified police.
The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for attempted car theft and attempted residential burglary.
ALLEGEDLY TRIED TO CUT STORE EMPLOYEE WHEN ASKED TO LEAVE STORE
A store employee in the 2500 block of Santa Monica Boulevard told police at 10:04 a.m. Wednesday, January 4th, that a suspect allegedly entered the store on the previous day and stole a belt.
The suspect then entered the store January 4th, and when the employee asked the suspect to leave, the suspect allegedly attempted to cut the employee using a box cutter.
The suspect was arrested and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where he was booked for assault with a deadly weapon.
SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR PETTY THEFT OF T-SHIRTS
Police were called to a store in the 1400 block of the Third Street Promenade at 9:52 p.m. Tuesday, January 3rd, where a theft suspect was in custody.
A store loss prevention officer told police that the suspect allegedly entered the store, concealed T-shirts in her purse and left without paying.
The items, valued at $98, were recovered.
The suspect was arrested outside the store and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where she was booked for petty theft.
ARRESTED FOR STEALING BOOKS FROM STORE
A loss prevention officer at a store in the 1200 block of the Third Street Promenade told police at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 31st, that a suspect had allegedly entered the store, removed $187.24 worth of books, placed the items in an empty bag and left without paying.
The suspect was arrested outside the store and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where he was booked for commercial burglary.

MAGAZINES FROM STORE
A store employee in the 300 block of Santa Monica Boulevard told police at 8:35 p.m. Wednesday, December 28th, that a suspect allegedly entered the store, stole magazines and left without paying.
The suspect was arrested and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where he was booked for commercial burglary.
