ARRESTED AT CAMPSITE FOR PARAPHERNALIA
Police were called to the 2200 block of Olympic Boulevard at 7 a.m. Thursday, May 10th, regarding a report of a man camping out and setting up bedding near a high school.
Officers located the man where he was allegedly camping and detained him. They also found that he was allegedly in possession of a pipe used to smoke crack cocaine and two shopping carts that belonged to supermarkets.
Police arrested the man and booked him for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of lost property and for camping in public.
GUARD BOOKED FOR THEFT FROM BANK
Police were called to a bank in the 1400 block of Wilshire Boulevard at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday, May 8th, regarding a commercial burglary investigation.
Bank managers and security personnel alleged to police that a guard for a security company who had access to the bank ATM area inside had stolen money from the area.
The guard was allegedly caught on tape going into the area at 2:55 a.m. that day. Bank management had conducted an investigation after realizing that the bank was missing money in excess of $60,000 between February and May.
The suspect was arrested at his place of employment and was booked in Santa Monica Jail for burglary.
Police are conducting an ongoing investigation to determine if the suspect is responsible for reported thefts from other bank branches.
ARRESTED FOR SPRAYING BEACH BATHROOM WALL
Harbor guards patrolling the beach at 12:40 a.m. Friday, May 11th, told police that they saw a suspect allegedly spray-painting the walls of a bathroom.
When officers arrived, they detained the suspect, who allegedly said he wanted to spray paint his nickname and the name of his friend who passed away.
The suspect was arrested and booked for malicious mischief and vandalism.
BOOKED FOR STEALING ITEMS FROM VEHICLE
Police were called to the 1300 block of 14th Street at 7 a.m. Saturday, May 12th, a man told them that he came out of his residence and saw a suspect he recognized allegedly looking into a car that was parked in the carport.
The suspect fled the area after seeing the man, who called police and gave them a description of the suspect.
Officers detained the suspect as he was walking down the alley and he was identified by the witness. Police also found that the suspect was allegedly in possession of an I-pod, a car adapter and carrying case.
The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for auto burglary.
SUSPECT ALLEGEDLY BROKE INTO PARKED CAR
Officers on patrol in the 2700 block of Pico Boulevard at 12:15 a.m. Monday, May 14th, saw a suspect inside a parked car acting suspiciously.
The suspect was looking around the inside of the vehicle and went in and out of the vehicle.
After officers saw the suspect allegedly pick up items off the ground and walk away quickly, they detained him.
Police went to the vehicle and saw that it was allegedly broken into and also found several items on the ground near the vehicle.
Officers located the owner of the vehicle, who identified the items that were found.
The suspect was arrested and booked for auto burglary and probation violation.
