Police were called to the 2200 block of Ocean Avenue at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, March 18th, regarding an assault and battery investigation.

Witnesses alleged to police that a woman was sitting against the wall in the beach parking lot when a man walked up to her and asked her to have sex with him.

When the woman refused, the man allegedly punched the woman in her face, causing her to bleed.

As officers and paramedics were on the scene talking to the victim, another paramedic unit saw the suspect sitting on a bus bench at Ocean and Bay Avenues and called police.

Police arrested the suspect and booked him in Santa Monica Jail for assault and battery and public intoxication.


A man in the 2100 block of Wilshire Boulevard told police at 6 p.m. Monday, March 19th, that after he parked his car in the parking lot and went into the office building, he went up the stairs to the back of the building where he saw a suspect loitering.

After the man told the suspect that he was not allowed to loiter in the building, the suspect allegedly got upset, yelled at the 75-year-old man and hit him in the stomach.

The suspect, who was holding an object that appeared to be a pen, then allegedly jabbed the man in the stomach with the object.

The victim was able to get away and called police, who found the suspect two blocks away in the 1800 block of Wilshire Boulevard.

The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault with a deadly weapon and elder abuse.


Police were called to the 1700 block of Lincoln Boulevard at 5:20 p.m. Thursday, March 15th, regarding a kidnapping investigation.

A man and woman had been driving down the street and gotten into an argument when the car stopped at a traffic light near a gas station at Lincoln and Olympic Boulevards.

The woman then got out of the car and went to the gas station and the man also got out of the car, at which point they continued to argue.

The man allegedly attempted to get the woman back into the car but the woman refused.

The man then allegedly dragged the woman back into the car, forced her into the front seat, locked the door and drove onto the freeway.

The woman was not injured.

Witnesses called police, who located the vehicle near the Bundy Drive exit of the freeway, where they pulled the vehicle over.

Police arrested the man and booked him in Santa Monica Jail for kidnapping and domestic violence.


Police were called to a video game store in the 1900 block of Lincoln Boulevard at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday, March 20th, regarding a grand theft investigation.

Store employees alleged to police that another employee who worked at the cash register had given items to friends and customers at discounted prices between October and March 19th.

The employee had allegedly given away over $1,000 worth of discounted items this month.

The employee was arrested by police and booked in Santa Monica Jail for grand theft.
