Take a jog through campus to fight cancer

LMU hosts a 5k run/walk to benefit the American Cancer Society

If you haven’t had the chance to take a stroll or a jog through Loyola Marymount’s scenic campus lately, here’s your chance to do just that — and for a good cause, too.

On Saturday, LMU hosts a 5k Think Pink Run/Walk to raise funds for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiative.

The 1.5-mile flat loop takes participants mostly through the campus via Ignatian Circle and along the bluff. Two full laps complete the course. The first 200 registrants get a free 2015 Think Pink t-shirt, and there will be other giveaways, prizes and treats throughout the day.

Register online before the event or between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on the day of the race at the Burns Rec Center. Don’t forget to wear comfortable shoes, and a touch of pink wouldn’t hurt either.

The Think Pink 5k Run/Walk starts at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Burns Recreation Center’s Parking Lot C.  $10 to $25. Call (310) 338-3049, email lmufitwell@gmail.com or visit lmu.edu/fitwell
