Longtime Westchester residents Tom and Julie Judge celebrated their golden jubilee wedding anniversary Saturday, June 24th, with a gathering of family and friends at the Proud Bird Restaurant in Westchester.
The Judges, who met on a tour of Europe, were married on June 17th, 1956 in St. Sophia Cathedral in Los Angeles.
They had two children, Kathy and Pete, whom they lost to cystic fibrosis.
The Judges are both active members of the Y’s Men’s Club at the Westchester Family YMCA.
Tom also serves as a deacon at the Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Julie is a founding member and board secretary of the Flight Path Museum at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and is also a board member and officer for the Y’s Men’s Club.
She has served as a volunteer at the Westchester/LAX-Marina del Rey Chamber of Commerce and as the Gift Shop chairman at Centinela Hospital, where she contributed 7,000 hours of service.
Tom attended Pepperdine College (now called Pepperdine University) and USC to prepare for a career as a teacher. He retired after 34 years.
Julie graduated from Butte Business College in Montana and pursued an accounting career, with time out to raise her children.
Tom and Julie Judge have resided in Westchester for 47 years.
