Tony Ciancimino — executive director of the Westchester/LAX-Marina del Rey Chamber of Commerce — will resign from the position Friday, June 30th, to enter the private sector.
The board of directors voted unanimously to promote Christina Davis, chamber member services and communications director, to the position of executive director.
Ciancimino, who has served as chamber executive director since 2003, previously served as the chamber membership and marketing director.
“I have truly enjoyed my time as executive director of the chamber, and I am proud of the success our chamber has had,” Ciancimino said. “Our business community is vital and growing, and I wish the chamber much success in the future.
“This is a time of transition for me and for the chamber, and I look forward to making sure the transition in chamber leadership is a smooth one.”
Chamber president Cedric Sutherland said the chamber owes Ciancimino a debt of gratitude for his years of dedicated service.
“Anyone who knows Tony knows that he loves our chamber and our community, and we wish him well in his future endeavors,” Sutherland said.
“I am sure that he will continue to be involved in our community,” he added.
Prior to taking her position with the chamber, Davis served as communication and development director at the Westchester Family YMCA.
“I am very excited about this opportunity,” said Davis, “and I look forward to working with our board and our members to make this the best chamber possible.”
“Since 1953, the Westchester/LAX-Marina del Rey Chamber of Commerce has taken the lead on meaningful issues affecting the business and residential communities it represents,” the chamber says.
The chamber works to promote business and support the communities of Westchester, Playa del Rey, Marina del Rey, Playa Vista and LAX.
