Tony Palermo, co-owner of Tony P’s Dockside Grill in Marina del Rey, has been elected to the board of directors of the California Restaurant Association, the largest and longest-serving restaurant trade association in the state.
The association represents 20,000 restaurants throughout the state.
Palermo, a Westchester resident, has been active in West-chester and the Marina and earlier in Santa Monica.
He has more than 35 years in the food service industry.
During this period, Palermo was active in numerous chambers of commerce in Santa Monica, the Marina and Westchester.
While operating a restaurant on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, Palermo was active in promoting the street, which has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in the region.
With the Westchester/LAX-Marina del Rey Chamber of Commerce, Palermo has been honored with the chamber Education Award, Teacher Eddy Award and Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award.
He was named honorary mayor for the Westchester and Marina areas.
He has contributed to local youth athletics, the annual Westchester July Fourth parade and an annual Santa Claus event in Westchester.
