Tony P’s Dockside Grill in Marina del Rey will host the third annual charity luncheon and silent auction for Mychal’s Learning Place at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 5th.

The restaurant is hosting the event for the second year.

ychal’s Learning Place is a nonprofit after-school program for children ages 11 to 17 with developmental disabilities such as autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and other disabilities.

The program provides social and recreational activities to children throughout the area who would otherwise go without the activities.

There is no charge to the families of these children.

All proceeds from the benefit are to go towards operating expenses.

“Tony P’s and the staff have been so gracious as to offer their time and services that ultimately benefit so many kids,” said Ed Lynch, executive director of Mychal’s Learning Place.

“Their generosity will echo in the lives of these special kids for a long time. We encourage the entire community to come and meet our kids and enjoy some great food and entertainment.”

Mychal’s Learning Place was founded by Ed Lynch in 2002 after he lost his daughter, Mychal, to an undiagnosed neurological disorder.

He believes that all children should be challenged and encouraged to achieve independence in a safe and loving environment.

Tickets are $50 for adults and $25 for children under the age of 17.
