A man — identified by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) as 56-year-old Frederick Jameson — was listed as in critical condition at a local hospital after he allegedly drove his Pontiac Grand AM into a tree at Via Marina and Marquesas Way in Marina del Rey, Tuesday, November 2nd.

The Marina del Rey resident’s vehicle spun out of control, jumped the curb and hit a eucalyptus tree, which tore through the car, said CHP Officer Dan Morrison.

The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident, said Morrison.
