Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Marina del Rey Station deputies arrested a 25-year-old transient for allegedly attempting to rob a Bank of America branch in Marina del Rey Oct. 4.

The incident occurred at 1:03 p.m. at a bank in the 4700 block of Admiralty Way, where the suspect handed the teller a note and during a brief conversation, the suspect allegedly indicated it was a robbery, a sheriff’s spokesperson said.

Marina del Rey Sheriff’s Station deputies quickly arrived at the scene after being notified of a bank robbery in progress and took the suspect into custody before he obtained any money, the sheriff’s spokesperson said.

The suspect, identified as Christopher John-Mark Bailey, who is believed to be a transient from St. Louis, Mo., was being held on $50,000 bail, sheriff’s officials said.

Sheriff’s Department Major Crimes Bureau investigators do not believe the suspect is connected to any other bank robberies.
