The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District has announced the selection of Tristan Komlos as principal of Lincoln Middle School.

Komlos has been with the district for the past two years, serving as M House Principal at Santa Monica High School (Samohi). She has over 12 years of educational experience and district sources say they believe her extensive knowledge and communication skills make her an invaluable and highly effective leader.

“Tristan has proven that she is able to plan, develop and implement instructional objectives and District initiatives,” said Tim Walker, interim superintendent.

As a house leader and a member of Samohi Committee for Redesign Efficacy (SCORE), Komlos has been instrumental in the documented successes of the redesign at Samohi.

Some of Komlos’s accomplishments include the restructuring of the Freshman Seminar curriculum, coordinating and man- aging the administration of California Standardized Testing and Reporting, and participating in a UCLA Principal’s Center training to improve student achievement through teacher observation and feedback.
