ABC7 “Eyewitness News” weathercaster and reporter Garth Kemp has been selected to serve as grand marshal for the 45th Annual Marina del Rey Holiday Boat Parade.

The Holiday Boat Parade is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, December 8th, in the main channel of Marina del Rey.

Kemp will be riding aboard the grand marshal boat, “Chelsea II,” which, along with the United States Coast Guard cutter Halibut, will lead the two-hour parade. This year’s parade theme is “Holiday Magic.”

A fireworks show is scheduled to kick off the official start of the parade at 5:55 p.m.

“With Garth Kemp in our parade, we’re sure he will be bringing spectacular weather along for the ride, and we’re thrilled he will take the helm as grand marshal,” Holiday Boat Parade president Cindy Williams said.

Kemp joined ABC7’s Eyewitness News team in August 1998 and also serves as host of “Eye on L.A.”
