Violin virtuoso Hahn-Bin will join maestro Frank Fetta and the Marina del Rey Summer Symphony in his return to the Marina del Rey Summer Concerts Thursday, Aug. 19.
The performance will be presented free to the public at 7 p.m. at Burton Chace Park, 13650 Mindanao Way, Marina del Rey. Rich Capparela, popular KUSC-FM personality, is the host.
A protégé of the great Itzhak Perlman, 22-year-old Hahn-Bin has won critical acclaim for his performances and programs.
Born in Seoul, South Korea, Hahn-Bin made his concerto debut with the Seoul Philharmonic at the age of 10. He made his international debut at the age of 12 at the 42nd Grammy Awards in a salute to classical music which honored the legendary Isaac Stern.
Hahn-Bin, the first prize winner of the prestigious Young Concert Artists International Auditions, made his New York debut at Carnegie’s Zankel Hall and his Washington debut at the Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater.
For his Marina concert he will play virtuoso works by Henri Wieniawski and Pablo de Sarasate. The orchestra will also perform Samuel Barber’s “Souvenirs,” Maurice Ravel’s “Bolero,” and Igor Stravinsky’s “Firebird.”
