Paw PAC, a political action committee concerning animals and Action for Animals, which seeks to protect animals and habitat, endorsed Kelly Hayes-Raitt to succeed outgoing State Assemblywoman Fran Pavley, who represents the 41st District, and will be termed out of office.
The primary election will be held Tuesday, June 6th.
“Kelly is the first candidate in the state we’ve endorsed this year,” said Virginia Handley, of Paw PAC.
“We are impressed with her two decades of leadership in protecting open space and habitat areas as well as with her compassion in opposing inhumane traps such as gill nets that trap dolphins and jaws of death traps that kill wildlife.”
Hayes-Raitt is a Santa Monica resident and vice chair of the City of Santa Monica Commission on the Status of Women.
The 41st District includes Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Topanga, Encino, Woodland Hills, Tarzana, Hidden Hills, Calabasas, Westlake Village, Oak Park, Port Hueneme, and Oxnard.
