Santa Monica-based Upward Bound House, a nonprofit organization that provides housing and services to homeless families with children, has appointed Jaclyn Lantz as its new director of advancement.

Lantz will be responsible for increasing Upward Bound House’s visibility within the community and helping the agency move families out of homelessness by growing and diversifying its funding sources.

“During a time of increased demand for our services, it is imperative that we have the resources to meet the needs of our clients,” said David Snow, executive director of Upward Bound House. “Jaclyn will help us establish a sustainable funding structure which will allow Upward Bound House and its clients to thrive.”

Prior to joining Upward Bound House, Lantz served as director of Development for the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region. She brings experience in development management, building a fundraising infrastructure and building relationships within the community, according to Upward Bound House.

Lantz, who earned a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, began her career in Chicago as a political fundraising consultant.
