HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE — Catalina Yacht Anchorage in Marina del Rey is collecting canned food in a holiday food drive to benefit the OPCC, a Santa Monica agency that has been assisting low-income families and the mentally ill on the Westside since 1963.

Donations will be accepted by Catalina Yacht Anchorage, 13505 Bali Way, Marina del Rey, until Saturday, December 24th. Information, (310) 822-0669.

MUSICAL FOOD DRIVE — A concert called “Pound for Pound” to benefit the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank is planned at Temple Bar, 1026 Wilshire Blvd., Santa Monica, Tuesday, December 6th. Doors will open at 8 p.m.

Entry fee is $5 plus a can of food. Those who bring two cans of food will receive a video iPod raffle ticket.

Entertainment will include USC students and singers and songwriters David Ryan Harris and Ernie Halter.

For every dollar donated, the food bank will donate $10 worth of food to the hungry, according to event spokesperson Jennifer Clark.

CHRISTMAS MUSIC — Songs and carols of Christmas will be featured at the meeting of the Congregational Church of the Messiah Guild of Serv-ice meeting at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 8th.

The event is at the church, 7300 Manchester Ave., Westchester.

Melinda Goodall, soprano and former director of music at the church for more than 25 years, and Louise Thomas, pianist and former pianist and organist at the church, will perform.

Goodall is principal of Loyola Village School in Westchester and Thomas is director of collaborative arts at Chapman University in Orange.

The concert is open to the public and free.

Following the concert there will be a salad and dessert potluck luncheon in the church’s Arlington Hall. Participants are asked to call Peggy Stone, (310) 823-5636, to designate the food contribution.

GALLERY HOLIDAY PARTY — The Ten Women Venice Gallery will hosts its annual Holiday Open House and Holiday Party from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, December 10th, at the gallery, 1237 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice.

Admission is free and a portion of sales will be donated to the charity A Window Between Worlds, a nonprofit organization that provides art workshops for survivors of domestic violence.

Ten Women Venice is an art cooperative the features paintings, ceramics, photography, glasswork, jewelry, embroidered tapestries, art dolls, wire sculpture and functional art.
