The annual Venice Art Walk, featuring tours of local renowned artists’ studios and silent auctions of works by more than 400 artists, will return Friday through Sunday, May 20 through 22.
The Venice Art Walk & Auctions is the annual fundraiser for the Venice Family Clinic, the largest free clinic in the country.
In addition to the studio tours and silent auctions, this year’s Art Walk will include new features, including “Art Within Reach,” a showcase of limited edition works by 15 internationally recognized artists never before featured in the Art Walk.
Other new features include the Art Walk Skate Surf May 20, a skate and surfboard auction featuring artist-designed skate decks and specially shaped boards by more than 30 artists, including some Z-Boys alumni; and architecture tours of private residences and gardens in Venice and the Westside that were designed by renowned architects and landscape designers, event organizers said.
The self-guided architecture tour features houses within easy walking or bicycling distance of Art Walk artists’ studios, organizers said. Three of the homes are on Venice’s storied canals, and others are on streets that were also part of Abbot Kinney’s original “Venice of America.”
The Art Walk & Auctions will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 22. Visitors are asked to register at Westminster Elementary School, 1010 Abbot Kinney Blvd. Tickets are $50. Admission to the silent auction is free and open to the public.
The Art Walk Skate Surf auction will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. May 20 at Track 16 Gallery, 2525 Michigan Ave., Santa Monica. Admission is free.
Architecture tours will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 21 and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 22. For ticket prices and the full calendar of events, http://theveniceartwalk.org/calendar.
