Rotary Club of Venice-Marina will honor the “heroes” of Fire Station #63 at its lunch meeting scheduled at noon Thursday, May 17th, at the station, 1930 Shell Ave. in Venice.
Rotary Club president Alex Rosales will present a check for $1,000 from proceeds raised in the March 17th St. Patrick’s Day Pancake Breakfast to benefit the fire station, along with youth enrichment activities.
A check for $500 will also be presented to Beethoven Elementary School principal Althea Ford for the support of the school’s homework lab.
Hundreds of community members, students and friends supported the pancake breakfast, which included a performance by Venice-Marina Youthact members, Rotary officials said.
The Westchester Del Rey Cheerleaders, volunteer helpers from Westchester High Interact Rachel Horning, Bradley Rebeiro, Banaz Hejazi, Eileen Cheng, Kelsie Polrier and club sponsor Jim Hill joined the Rotarians of Venice-Marina and Fire Station #63 in the fundraiser.
