The 17th Annual Venice Music Festival benefiting the Venice Community Housing Corporation will feature performances by the Susie Hansen Latin Band and Adaawe Sunday, September 20th.
The music festival is scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m. in Palms Court, 733-743 Palms Blvd., Venice. A brunch will precede the festival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and a silent auction will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The brunch costs $125, including festival entrance, while admission to the music festival is $20.
Proceeds from the event will go to fund Venice Community Housing Corporation’s ongoing efforts to provide affordable housing, social and family support services to low-income families and at-risk youth in Los Angeles.
Performers Adaawe will feature “music from Africa, from America.” Information, adaawemusic.com/.
The Susie Hansen Latin Band, which includes electric violinist Hansen and her Los Angeles-based band, plays Latin jazz and salsa. Information, susiehansen.com/.
The brunch will include gourmet fare donated and prepared by Venice’s Off the Wall Catering and the jazzy guitar tunes of the Ron Escheté Duo.
Bidders at the silent auction will compete for art works, restaurant gift certificates, personal and professional services, all donated by VCHC board members, local businesses, and supporters.
