Jarrod Townsend, a 33-year-old business owner and resident of Venice, has been named one of five finalists in the national search for the “Modern Day Caesar,” GQ Magazine and Caesars Palace in Las Vegas have announced.
Townsend was chosen as a finalist based on his answer to a questionnaire and photo submitted on-line in June. He is in the running with four other men from Boston, Brooklyn and Atlanta.
Townsend owns JD Townsend Construction and Industrial Finishing Systems and plans to someday become a pilot and travel the world. He likes motocross, kick boxing, outdoor sports and is currently learning how to surf.
He’s also active in the Medical Missions Foundation charity, where he has served as the emcee and auctioneer for the organization’s fundraisers. He says his goal is to “change the world one smile at a time.”
The winner of the “Modern Day Caesar” search will be announced on Extra in November and be featured in the December “Man of the Year” issue of GQ.
