The Venice Neighborhood Council’s Education Committee will host its second annual middle school forum in the auditorium of Coeur d’Alene Avenue Elementary School from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18.
Los Angeles Unified School District Board Member Steve Zimmer is scheduled to speak about his vision and plans for the Venice Family of Schools, and Tanya Anton, author of Go Mama Guide, will offer tips on how to navigate the charter and magnet school systems.
Zimmer represents District 4, which includes schools in Venice, Mar Vista, Del Rey and Westchester.
Participating middle schools will have the opportunity to give a short presentation (five minutes or less) about their school, followed by a question and answer period. Power point presentations are welcome and should be prepared before the meeting begins.
Coeur d’Alene Avenue Elementary School is at 810 Coeur d’Alene Ave., Venice, Ca.
