The Children’s Tumor Foundation has scheduled the Third Annual “LA Walk for Neurofibromatosis” Saturday, September 20th, at Westchester Park to raise money for clinical care and research for the disease.
Neurofibromatosis is a neurological disorder that affects one in 3,000 births, causing tumors to develop on nerves anywhere in the body, and it can lead to loss of vision and hearing, disfigurement, loss of limbs, skeletal defects and forms of cancer.
The walk is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., with check-in/ registration scheduled from 8 to 8:45 a.m. at the park, 7000 Manchester Ave., Westchester.
Participants will walk the five-kilometer route.
The event also includes a raffle and food.
Proceeds from the walk will go to clinical care and research to find effective treatments and a cure.
