The Second Annual Del Rey “Walk for Peace” between 6 and 8 p.m. Friday, July 22nd, is designed to display “the community’s strong commitment to peace and security for its families and children,” event organizers say.

The walk is being sponsored by the Mar Vista Family Center, the Los Angeles Police Department Pacific Area, the Del Rey Homeowners and Neighbors Association, the Del Rey Neighborhood Council, Westside Children’s Center, the County Service Planning Area #5, the City of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and Mar Vista Gardens.

The walk will begin at the LAPD Pacific Community Police Station, 12312 Culver Blvd., Del Rey.

From the police station, the walk will proceed south on Centinela Avenue to Braddock Drive;

east on Braddock Drive to Slauson Avenue; and

south on Slauson Avenue to the Mar Vista Family Center.

From the Mar Vista Family Center, the walk will proceed north on Slauson Avenue to Braddock Drive;

east on Braddock Drive to Berryman Avenue;

north on Berryman Avenue to Washington Boulevard;

west on Washington Boulevard to Inglewood Boulevard;

south on Inglewood Boulevard to St. Gerard Majella Church at 4439 Inglewood Blvd.

At the church, community organizations will offer information about safety, security and family services available to residents.
