The Westchester Del Rey Little League Softball 9- and 10-year-old all-star team recently added the Southern California State title to its list of championships this season.

The team was undefeated as it also earned championship banners for District 37 and Section 4.

In the Southern California State title game, the Westchester Del Rey Little League girls scored a run in the fourth inning and took a 4-0 lead in the fifth inning.

The fifth inning started with a lead-off walk by Leah Majors, followed by a bunt single by Adrienne Calderone. After another bunt single by Adriana Hebert and a two-base throwing error by the opponent, Westchester Del Rey tallied two runs. Hebert added another run on a ground-out play.

The team then opened up a convincing eight-run lead in the sixth inning with a combination of bunts and hits.

Pitcher Mia Parker pitched her second consecutive no-hitter to close out the game and bring the title home to Westchester.

The team committed just five errors in four games and gave up only five runs throughout the tournament. The pitching staff of Parker, Nicole Bishay, Victoria Raygosa, Emily Piera, and Gaby Benjamin gave up only one hit during the entire tournament, coaches said.

The team manager is Keith Hebert.
