The Westchester Farmers Market marked its 19th anniversary with a celebration at Westchester Park Wednesday, Oct. 3.
Sponsored by the Westchester Vitalization Corporation, the farmers market is held every Wednesday and offers seasonally grown produce from a variety of Southern California farmers.
In addition to the agriculture products are specialty food vendors such as Snax Stand, Drey’s Barbeque, Pupusas Rita and Grill Masters.
Other vendors that have participated include Aliki Green Tavern’s Greek Oil Hummus Olives and Salads, The Breadman, Dave’s Gourmet – Korean Side Dishes, East West Bolani, Dominico’s Pasta and Sauces, Café Laurant French Baked Goods, Go Green Nopala Chips and Salsa, Amella Caramels, Alana’s Coffee hand roasted beans and fresh brewed coffee, Marvin’s Roasted Peanuts, Aloha’s Classic Kettle Korn and Tropical Seafood.
The weekly farmers market has also featured local artisans with handmade jewelry and crafts and Westchester High School’s “Green Comets INC.”
The Westchester Farmers Market community booth has been made available to local organizations to greet and meet shoppers.
The market’s 19th anniversary, which was celebrated with cooking demonstrations, dancing and music, exercise, a children’s reading hour and interactive demonstrations, was attended by numerous members and organizations of the community.
