The Westchester Halloween Town Fair, featuring holiday-themed activities for the family including the Third Annual Window Painting Competition, will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23.

Presented by the Westchester Town Center Business Improvement District and H.B. Drollinger Co., in partnership with the Otis College of Art and Design and LAX Coastal Area Chamber of Commerce, the second annual fair will take place in the parking lot behind the Paradise Building, 9100 S. Sepulveda Blvd., at Westchester Parkway, in Westchester. Admission is free.

Festivities will include rides and games, a silent auction, an arts and crafts boutique, pumpkin decorating, live entertainment, a petting zoo, a costume contest, and food.

The fair will also include a firehouse chili cook-off, featuring original chili recipes from the seven Los Angeles Fire Department stations in Battalion 4. Visitors will be asked to vote for their favorites. Awards for the best recipes will be presented by Los Angeles City Councilman Bill Rosendahl and 2008 honorary fire chief Heather Lemmon.

“This is a great opportunity for us to highlight to the community the great shops and restaurants in Westchester Town Center,” said Don Duckworth, executive director of the Westchester Town Center BID. “The Halloween Town Fair will be a true community event, and we expect that thousands of people will turn out to celebrate Halloween and enjoy the unique sense of community we have here in Westchester.”

In addition, a “Twilight Party” will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., celebrating the best-selling book and hit feature film franchise. The party will showcase the local rock/alternative band ACIDIC, which has performed at popular venues such as The House of Blues on Sunset Boulevard, Whiskey A Go-Go, The Knitting Factory, The Palmer House, The Derby, The Canyon Club and at Bamboozle Left Festival.

The party will feature all things “Twilight,” including a “Twilight” Saga “Look-A-Like” Contest of characters, a special “Twilight” guest, photo opportunities, and Twilight merchandise. This event will be age-appropriate for fans aged 8 and older.

Free parking for the fair and the Twilight Party is available.
