A 22-year-old Compton man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a vehicle in Westchester Sunday night, July 7, police said.
The accident occurred at about 9:50 p.m. at 83rd Street and Lincoln Boulevard.
A 2003 Toyota Camry driven by a 16-year-old Los Angeles boy was turning left from southbound Lincoln onto eastbound 83rd Street when the vehicle collided with a Honda motorcycle travelling northbound on Lincoln, according to the Los Angeles Police Department West Traffic division.
The motorcycle driver, identified as Starlyn Calloway, was treated at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics and transported to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, an LAPD West Traffic spokesperson said. No other injuries were reported.
The West Traffic division is continuing the investigation of the incident.
According to Calloway’s Facebook page, he was a Compton High School graduate and attended Long Beach City College. He was on his way to work at the time of the collision, according to a post on the page.
