The Westside Food Bank in Santa Monica is holding its annual frozen turkey drive to combat hunger in surrounding neighborhoods.
Westside Food Bank supplies food to 65 social service agencies in Santa Monica, Venice, Culver City, West Los Angeles, Inglewood, and West Hollywood.
Food from the Westside Food Bank reaches more than 80,000 people each year, nearly half of whom are children, said Bruce Rankin, spokesman for the Food Bank.
Until Saturday, December 24th, the public can drop off turkeys at the Food Bank warehouse, 1710 22nd St., Santa Monica, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Large barrels for food collection are also being distributed to schools, religious institutions, and businesses throughout the Westside.
