The Westside Shelter and Hunger Coalition will honor 25 previously homeless people, Sotheby’s International Realty, and the City of Santa Monica at the organization’s tenth annual breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Friday, September 23rd, at Bergamot Station, 2525 Michigan Ave., Santa Monica.

Tickets are $30 per person in advance and $40 per person at the door.

“Sotheby’s International Realty has gone beyond the call of duty for the Westside Shelter and Hunger Coalition and its member agencies and their clients,” said Kate Bilger, a Coalition spokeswoman. “The City of Santa Monica will be recognized for its exemplary leadership to end homelessness.”

The coalition is a group of more than 30 social service providers, faith congregations and support organizations that work with homeless people.

Coalition members have worked together for more than 20 years to provide care for homeless and low-income persons and families, Bilger said.

Members also provide specialized care for veterans, battered women, the young homeless and homeless people with mental illness, drug or alcohol addiction, and HIV/AIDS.

Television actress Wendie Malick of Just Shoot Me and Jake in Progress will emcee the event.

Chrysalis, since its founding in 1991, has employed more than 800 homeless clients annually through contracts with private and public entities.
