The inaugural Westside Stand-up Fest will take place at the M.i.’s Westside Comedy Theater in Santa Monica (formerly the Westside Eclectic) Thursday through Saturday, July 9th through 11th.
The festival will feature some of the top up-and-coming comics and professional headliners that Los Angeles has to offer, a Westside Comedy Theater spokesman says.
All shows will be held at M.i.’s Westside Comedy Theater, one of the area’s premier live comedy venues. Located on the world-famous Third Street Promenade, the theater was recently named by Variety magazine as a top spot to find talent in L.A.
“The Westside Stand-up Fest was founded to fill a void in the Los Angeles comedy scene,” says Lloyd Ahlquist, general manager of the theater. “Despite being the world’s largest talent pool, L.A. had no festival devoted solely to the art of stand-up comedy. That is, until now.
“Our goal is to showcase the best up-and-coming stand-up talent in Los Angeles.”
Show times are scheduled at 8 and 9:30 p.m. nightly during the festival, with an additional 11 p.m. show on Friday, July 10th and Saturday, July 11th. Single-show tickets are $10 and All-Access Festival Passes for $35 may be purchased in advance at www.westsidestandupfest.com/, or by calling the theater box office at (310) 451-0850.
