Playa del Rey resident William “Brick” Adams, a longtime local real estate broker, died Dec. 19 in Fountain Valley. He was 55.

Adams was born May 31, 1955 in New York City to Sam Adams and Caroline MacGregor.

After graduating from Palos Verdes High School and Pepperdine University, Adams worked at The Real Estate Consultants as a real estate broker in the Playa del Rey and Westchester area for more than 30 years.

A member of the Westchester United Methodist Church, Adams also assisted at the Los Angeles International Airport food pantry.

Family members said Adams, who enjoyed running, biking, swimming, tennis and reading, was someone who loved to help people and had an unusual sense of humor.

Adams is survived by his children, Chris, 18, and Lizzie, 12.

A memorial service is scheduled at noon Saturday, Jan. 15 at the Westchester United Methodist Church, 8065 Emerson Ave. A reception will immediately follow the service.

The family asks that all donations in Adams’ name be made to the LAX food pantry.
