The LAX Coastal Area Chamber of Commerce will recognize the winners of the 2007 City of Angels Awards Tuesday, February 13th.
This is a new event for the chamber, which will salute outstanding members of the community selected for their contributions to the Greater Los Angeles area and their success in their chosen fields.
This year, the chamber will be honoring Andy Roeser of the Los Angeles Clippers, the Honorable Wendy Greuel of the Los Angeles City Council, Jim Collins of Collins Foods and Ruth Lansford of Friends of Ballona Wetlands.
The H.B. Drollinger Achievement Award, named for the Westchester philanthropist, Howard Drollinger, who passed away last year, will be decided by nominations from chamber members.
The event will be held at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott, 5855 W. Century Blvd., West-chester.
The reception will begin at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The cost for this event is $85 per person, $170 per person including a VIP reception.
Table sponsorships are available for $1,500, $1,250 and $1,000, with each including seating for ten.

EAT AND LIVE HEALTHY — With the new year upon us, we often wonder about our new year’s resolutions. Many seek to spend more time with family. Others look to gain that next promotion at work.
The Westchester Family YMCA will begin working towards its goal of providing programming and activities that promote healthy and active living in 2007 on Saturday, January 20th.
The YMCA will be hosting its first Eat & Live Healthy Fair ñ a family event that will include food, prizes and fun from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Westchester Family YMCA will be offering a free two-week guest pass to anyone who attends. In addition, there will be a wide variety of activities for the kids, including a fun bounce house, arts and crafts and prizes.

LMU HOLDS HALL OF FAME DINNER — Loyola Marymount University will induct five athletes, in addition to its 1986 College World Series team, to its Hall of Fame Friday, January 19th.
The 2007 Hall of Fame class includes Kim Blankinship (volleyball 1993-96), Jeff Fryer (men’s basketball 1986-90), Bob “Whitey” Kerslake (baseball 1954-58), Sarah McFarland (volleyball 1997-2000) and Tracy Sharp (women’s soccer 1997-2000).
