A 57-year-old woman died after being struck by a passing vehicle on Venice Boulevard in Venice Friday, January 14th, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD)West Traffic Division.
The woman was running southbound in attempting to cross Venice Boulevard near Walnut Avenue approximately 100 feet from an unmarked crosswalk when she was hit by a vehicle traveling westbound at about 4:45 p.m., police allege.
West Traffic Division police responded to the scene.
The woman sustained fatal injuries from the collision, police said. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
Police said neither alcohol nor criminal negligence was involved in the collision. The West Traffic Division is continuing the investigation.
