The Women’s Sailing Association of Santa Monica Bay has assembled a panel from the Marina del Rey sailing community to explain “the ins and outs and whys of sailing school.” The panel will be held at Santa Monica Windjammers Yacht Club, 13589 Mindanao Way, Marina del Rey. Social hour is 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., with guest speakers from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, February 13th.

Admission is free. Complimentary dinner is served for association members and for first- or second-time guests.

“Whether it is learning how to step on a boat without falling in the drink or obtaining your 50-ton captain’s license, these schools can make it happen,” said Diane Larson, a spokeswoman for the Women’s Sailing Association. She added that association members say “sailing can be made easy” through training from Blue Water Sailing, Blue Pacific Sailing, Fairwind Yacht Club, UCLA, Marina Sailing and California Sailing Association.

The association holds general meetings open to the public the second Tuesday of each month.
