The Happening Gallery in Venice is presenting an exhibit featuring works by 10 painters and four sculptors through Feb. 5.

A gallery spokesperson says the exhibit includes the most diverse group of artists since the opening of the gallery, 4047 Lincoln Blvd., Venice.

Among the artists featured isemerging urban artist Matthew Garber whose wooden structures contrast with his functional “Overprotective iPod Case,” the gallery spokesperson says.

Also displayed are Native American-influenced bronze pieces by James Vaughn, as well as works by metal artist Shane Reilly, who showcases landmark monuments that can fit on a side table.

Sissy Hyde brings sex appeal to the show with feather light tissue paper dresses.

On the mixed media front, Raúl Gonzalez portrays celebrities in all their frailty with compositions on newsprint, aiming to draw attention to the poignant concept of how much stars thrive on press, sometimes to their detriment, the gallery spokesperson explains.

A closing reception for the exhibit is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 5. The gallery is open from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
