Markwell John Lillard, a Westchester resident since 1957, died Monday, October 9th, at his home at the age of 84.
A memorial service was held Saturday, October 14th, at Westchester Lutheran Church, with burial at Inglewood Park Cemetery.
He was born January 26th, 1922 in Los Angeles and served in World War II in Anzio, Italy as a lieutenant in the 109th Combat Engineers, 34th Infantry Division.
After the war, Lillard was employed by the Hughes Aircraft Company in Culver City and El Segundo for 32 years, before his retirement in 1983.
Lillard is survived by sons Tim of Palm Desert, Michael of Dallas, Texas, and Ron of Hemet; daughter Marsha of Westchester; grandchildren Donna, Donnie, Charissa, Jonathan, Kyle, Scott and Bridget; and great-grandchildren Alexis and Jose.
In lieu of flowers, the Lillard family says donations may be made to the Westchester Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, 7831 Sepulveda Blvd., Los Angeles 90045.
