Jacqueline Yaft has been appointed deputy executive director for Operations and Emergency Management at Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), the city agency that operates Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

As head of Operations and Emergency Management, Yaft is responsible for airside, terminal and landside operations at the three LAWA airports, as well as the Emergency Management Division.

“(Yaft) was selected following an extensive competitive selection process from among a pool of highly qualified individuals nationwide,” LAWA Executive Director Gina Marie Lindsey said.

Yaft comes to LAWA from Denver International Airport, where she held the position of assistant deputy manager of aviation. She had been at Denver since 1999.

Prior to arriving at Denver, she held positions with John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York and with Kansas City International Airport in Missouri.

Yaft holds a bachelor of science degree in aviation management from the Metropolitan State College of Denver and a master’s degree in business administration from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. She is actively pursuing the American Management Professional Accreditation Program offered by Airports Council International — North America.

She is also a member of the American Association of Airport Executives.
