Hornblower Cruises & Events has relocated the classic yacht Zumbrota to its Marina del Rey fleet.
The 103-foot custom-built motor yacht Zumbrota was part of the Hornblower fleet in the Marina from 1995 to 1997.
Originally built for Charles Ringling of Ringling Brothers’ Barnum & Bailey Circus, Zumbrota was named for Ringling’s most popular carnival attraction, which was at the time the largest elephant in captivity.
Paramount Pictures, Mae West and Douglas Fairbanks Sr. also owned the classic yacht at various times.
Zumbrota joined the Hornblower fleet in 1985, and was rebuilt and refurbished for luxury harbor cruises. Teak decks, brass fittings and a full-service galley were added.
Her U.S. Coast Guard capacity is 150 passengers, with a cocktail capacity of 100 guests.
Hornblower officials say the yacht “can comfortably accommodate 64 guests for a formal seated lunch or dinner.”
The yacht also has an upper sundeck, which company officials say is “perfect for wedding ceremonies, corporate announcements and client entertaining.
